Reviews for Whittington Manor:
Whittington Manor
Whittington Manor is a Second World War love story. It
is 1939. Sarah is a young girl of 16 years old, the youngest child
of Lord and Lady Whittington. She recalls the day she met Joe
Lambert, a land worker from Portsmouth. Their coincidental meeting
on top of Portsdown Hill, Portchester was the start of a very
special love, but coming from two extremely different social backgrounds,
Sarah and Joe are forced to keep their love secret until war breaks
out and Joe is sent to fight for England, while Sarah follows
her dream of being a nurse.
Believing Joe has been killed, Sarah falls into the arms of Edward Hamilton. By manipulating his way into the family, Edward’s cunning plan pays off when Sarah agrees to marry him. All he has to do is wait until her 21st birthday to get his hands on her fortune. Sarah soon realises her marriage is a sham and does everything she can to protect her inheritance.
In a startling turn of events a body is found brutally murdered on the grounds of Portchester Castle, the evidence points to Sarah as the main suspect and she is arrested for murder.
The battle is on for Mr Shaw, Sarah’s solicitor, to save her but has she really lost everything and everyone around her? Her fate suddenly takes an unexpected turn, when a ghost from the past proves otherwise.

The Ghost of Bluebell Cottage
Taking a break from work, after his recent marriage break-up and after experiencing frightening and inexplicable dreams, Greg Thomas heads off to Corfe Castle in Dorset for a short break.
The parish of Corfe Castle has a dark history dating back to 1643, when Lady Bankes was driven from the castle by a traitor employee, and when Anthony Dickinson, a follower of Mathew Hopkins, was busy torturing scores of woman said to be witches. Amongst these women were Bluebell and Lilly, two herbalists whose cottages still stand today.
Drawn to a photo of Bluebell Cottage in a real estate window, Greg has an unusual, yearning to give up his high-flying career in London and live in the cottage, which is exactly what he does.
It seems that Greg is not the only newcomer to the village as Helen, who has recently left Bournemouth after breaking up with her fiancé, moves into Lilly’s an old 17th century cottage not far from Bluebell Cottage. She too is drawn into the past with strange dreams and paranormal experiences.
Peggy Paxton, ancestor of Bluebell and Lilly, blames Greg and Helen for stirring up the spirits and turns to the vicar for help but much to her dismay, he is caught up in the grip of something powerful and dangerous. It becomes clear, three hundred and sixty seven years on, a story of love and treachery becomes hopelessly entwined with the past and present.
